ARTISAN BUSINESS
PARTNER
Our first Artisan Partners were a talented couple named Jalia and Daniel who dreamed of using their craft to create opportunity for others in their community. In partnership with Noonday, Jalia and Daniel have grown their business to provide fair work to hundreds of local assemblers and bead-rollers. In addition to supporting dignified job creation in their community, we partner with Jalia and Daniel to provide no-cost daycare and scholarships to children of Artisans.

Techniques
Paper Bead
To create the perfect paper beads, Ugandan Artisans hand mix each dye color and check every bead for quality. Their work is where art and precision meet—a careful cut here, a touch more blue there—to create consistently beautiful accessories.
Ethically Sourced Horn
For centuries, the Ankole cattle that roam the Ugandan countryside have played an important role in the region’s culture. By cutting and polishing the massive horns generated as an after-market product in the local bazaar, Artisans create sleek and natural accessories.
